1. Traffic Sanity & Pedestrian Safety
Ward 8 commuters face daily gridlock caused by unsynchronized traffic lights and uncoordinated road closures. Jason will implement smart traffic signal management on major arterial corridors, reducing bottleneck idling and smoothing transit flow.
We will also expand Vision Zero safety protections around Ward 8 elementary schools, community centers, and senior residences, adding automated speed enforcement and high-visibility pedestrian crossings.
2. Protecting Renters & Fighting Unfair Property Tax Surges
Working families are being squeezed from both sides. Renters face speculative renovictions and above-guideline rent increases, while seniors and fixed-income homeowners face rapid property tax spikes.
Jason will fight to strengthen tenant protection bylaws, fund tenant legal advocacy clinics, and oppose blanket residential tax surges that penalize long-term homeowners.
3. Responsive Ward 8 Representation & Mobile Office Hours
Residents shouldn't have to travel downtown to City Hall or wait weeks for an automated email response to get help with a pothole, broken streetlight, or missed waste collection.
Jason will host weekly mobile constituent office hours across Ward 8 — meeting residents directly in local barber shops, coffee spots, and community centers.
4. Reinvesting in Youth Programs, Parks & Senior Services
A vibrant community requires safe, well-maintained public spaces. Jason will prioritize funding for Ward 8 youth sports programs, park upgrades, lighting enhancements, and expanded senior drop-in services.
